Welcome to the World of Our Four Fantastic Pigs

My Birthday is on Monday

on January 26, 2012

Can you believe it?! I’m going to be ONE! To think, that I have been here for an entire year. It’s kind of strange… One year ago, on Monday, I got to meet Mom and Dad. And one year ago, on Tuesday, I got to meet Emmett and Riley. And I got to come home and see the house and the puppies. And now I am almost walking. I have quite a temper that I am not afraid to show. (I threw something yesterday when Mom didn’t let me destroy Riley’s Lego tower.) I am very smart and a quick learner. But, overall, I am a happy little girl.

At first, my temper showed up when I was hungry or needed a clean diaper. I would go straight from fussing to throwing a small temper tantrum. But now, I will yell and kick my legs and flail my arms and smack when I don’t get my way. Mom and Dad have taken to either ignoring this temper, with the hopes that I will lose steam when no one is paying attention to me; or they pick me up and sit me down about 2 feet away from where the action is. The latter approach generally works.

I like to watch the Little Einstein DVDs with Emmett and Riley. I love to dance to music anytime, anywhere, but I repeat the sounds I hear when watching these DVDs and I also love the puppets in the DVDs. (Emmett is afraid of the monkey puppet, so we don’t watch the DVDs with him in it.) The other day when Daddy came home, I said, “Dada!” And when I was done with my eggs, I said “more.” Dad thinks that this is just coincidental babbling, but Mom thinks that I am really using words. I figure things out, like puzzles and cause/effect actions. I’m very good at training people to pick things up when I throw them on the floor.

Mostly, though, I am happy-go-lucky. I smile and laugh and giggle, all the time. Just about anything can make me happy. I have a favorite lamb that I like to sleep with. And, like Riley, I am partial to pacifiers. But other than that, I don’t really have favorite things. So far, I haven’t loved books. But recently, I’ve taken to turning the pages and looking at the pictures. Both Emmett and Riley loves books, so I figured I had to see what all the fuss was about. And I like to hold onto the front handles on our tricycle or my princess car and walk. I can stand on my own, without holding on, so my balance is almost there…

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have much more to report after my party on Sunday.

Talk then,
T-bone
